Heritage and Evolution
CASBAA was the pay TV industry association, established in 1991 at the birth of pay TV in Asia, a time when video was primarily distributed and received through cable and satellite. In 2018, CASBAA evolved into AVIA to represent and support the video industry in a period of profound and lasting change. While linear pay TV, cable operators and satellite providers are still a big and important part of the video industry, today AVIA equally embraces streaming and all those who produce, curate and distribute premium video content, as well as the entire surrounding ecosystem.
